Confluence Valley introduces Edney – an AI-powered platform for basketball clubs

Sports infrastructure accelerator Confluence Valley is introducing a new technology product, Edney AI – an AI-powered platform designed for the day-to-day operations of professional basketball clubs.

Sports infrastructure accelerator Confluence Valley is introducing a new technology product, Edney AI – an AI-powered platform designed for the day-to-day operations of professional basketball clubs.

Edney AI brings game, player and video analysis, physical performance monitoring, scouting and roster planning tools together in a single system. By centralizing information from different areas, the platform eliminates the need for coaches and analysts to search for and compare data across multiple systems. This significantly speeds up coaches’ daily work, allowing them to access and analyze relevant information within moments and make data-driven decisions faster.

The platform’s capabilities also include advanced smart statistics solutions tailored to the specific needs of coaching staffs, which can be used live during games. Edney AI also enables teams to monitor players’ health, physical workloads, treatments and training processes on a daily basis, while integrating in-game data with smart tracking systems.

In scouting, the platform allows teams to track players of interest, rank them, create customized databases, assess their skills and actual performances throughout the season, and evaluate their potential market value.

One of the platform’s key features is the AI-powered Ask Edney tool. Users can ask questions about their team’s data in everyday language and receive relevant statistics, tables or charts within seconds.

Edney AI was created and developed in a real professional basketball environment. Over the past three seasons, the platform has been developed together with Zalgiris Kaunas, taking into account the day-to-day needs of the club’s coaches, analysts, medical staff and other employees.

The platform has already been used in the daily operations of several European basketball clubs, including Zalgiris Kaunas, Real Madrid and London Lions. Working with top-level basketball organizations has allowed the Edney AI team to further develop the platform and tailor its features to the real-world needs of professional clubs.

“The amount of data in professional sports continues to grow, but its greatest value comes when we can quickly turn that information into concrete decisions. Edney AI was built in a real professional basketball environment, so we have a strong understanding of the challenges clubs face every day. Now, we want to bring this experience and technology to sports organizations in international markets,” says Paulius Motiejunas, CEO of Confluence Valley.

The launch of the new product marks one of Confluence Valley’s key areas of technological development. The accelerator aims to implement data- and AI-driven solutions across sports organizations and expand their use in international markets.
